Vietnam Veterans, like me, are on the way out. There are only about 30% of us left, and we're all in our 70s and 80s now. We were treated pretty shabbily when we came home, and so we banded together to form the Vietnam Veterans of America. The VVA home office will dissolve later this decade, in 2028. This is what prompted me to take on this personal project and photograph as many of us as I could get to sit for me. I ended up with 35, five of which are women (I think I told you four). Three were nurses, one was a TIA Flight Attendant, and one was a Red Cross Donut Dolly. Jane is one of the nurses. I decided to use fim simply because digital photography didn't exist in the 1960s.
