2024 Coastal Georgia Trip

  • Coastal Georgia

This 2024 trip to Coastal Georgia covers housing. The housing prices are being finalized and are expected to be about $750 per person sharing a room.  Costs that are not included are transportation, meals and entrance fees.

March 4-10 2024

We hope to stay in condo type housing rentals that come complete with full kitchens where we can all be together to bond, share some home cooked meals etc. The place we are looking at is about 2 blocks off the beach on Tybee Island and does have elevators making it easy for getting things in and out. Each unit says it sleeps 8 but more realistically 6 so that is our plan. Pricing is based on sharing a room so if you are a single person unwilling to share your price could be higher. It looks right now as our housing for the week will be around $750 per person-subject to change until we get them actually locked in. I would estimate around $70-$100 per day for gas, entrance fees and food-depending on how much you want to eat out and go do things-obviously it will be less if you are just hanging out on the beach and doing a lot of your own cooking. Transportation via flying into Savannah or driving will be an extra cost for you to consider as well. Questions contact Toni Harryman @ phototmj@aol.com or phone 214-908-0322.

SUGGESTED ITINERARY

  • 3/4 - Arrival/Social Time/ Beach Walks/Beach Portraits for attendees.
    • Supper at the Crab Shack
  • 3/5 -  Savannah-
    •  Forsythe Park, River Walk and shops, Lunch at Mrs. Wilkes, Savannah Botanical Gardens
  • 3/6 - Jekyll Island and Ft. King George ( 2 hrs south of Savannah)
  • 3/7- Wormsloe Plantation, GA Railroad Museum
  • 3/8 - Old Sheldon Church- Beaufort SC and Charleston SC ( 42 miles and approx. 90 miles respectively north of Savannah)
  • 3/9- Savannah Wildlife Refuge, Ft. Jackson, Bonaventure Cemetery
  • 3/10- Sunrise on the beach, Brunch, social time and checkout

Any day the itinerary is not to your liking there is always hanging out on the beach and little shops on the island or in Savannah. I tried to mix one day of more travel followed by the next day doing things closer to reduce fatigue. The schedule can easily be changed though for weather concerns for the more outdoor plans if needed.
